I’m sure you will all agree the band was on fine form, with Bruce monkeying around bombarding the crowd with Bananas, before climbing as a monkey.
For many of you that had not managed to see the band during the Book of Souls tour, it proved a great way to see just how well Bruce has recovered since his battle with Cancer. Bruce is 58 this Sunday, 7th August, and showed more energy than a man half his age. It was particularly amusing to see Bruce wearing the Mexican wrestler mask, it reminded me more than a little of his old Samson drummer Thunderstick.
A fairly animated BOS Eddie, brought to life from the album cover, enjoyed his nightly battle with Janick before having his heart torn out by Bruce and offered to the crowd before launching it into the grasping hands of a lucky boy or girl.
A very tight performance musically as you would expect on the 72 show of the tour especially an age defying performance from Nicko (64) on drums. A good mix of new and old songs mixed superbly by Tony Newton and I am sure if the band don’t take the opportunity release it this show will be bootlegged to death.
So please enjoy our selection of photos from the night.
Don’t forget a new Iron Maiden tour in 2017 was announced including proposed indoor gigs.
